Family is fine if their future daughter in law had premarital sex
I am an Indian. Age 26 and a virgin till date. My family was searching for a bride for me for 1 year and finally found a girl. When asked about her previous relationship she told me that she loved a guy but broke up soon.
Both our horoscopes match perfectly. [Indians give importance to horoscope in marriages]. Her family liked me and my family liked her. She was doing her Post Graduate course at that time. So we delayed our engagement and wedding dates. Just 2 weeks before engagement I came to know that she was in love with him for 3 years and had physical relationship with him regularly. When I asked about this she confessed that it was true and she lied so that she didn't want to hurt my ego. I was so upset and angry. I decided to explain about this situation to both our families and to call off the wedding. But destiny had other plans for me.
It seems both our families knew about her previous relationship and decided to hide these from me so I would not be hurt. Also they told me that premarital sex are common nowadays. It's 2016 and I should be practical and accept this. When asked to my friends they told me that I am exaggerating over a simple issue. I was ashamed for my behavior and our engagement got over last week.
My questions:
Is it wrong for a virgin guy to expect a virgin bride?
Did I exaggerate over this premarital sex thing?

It took your parent a year to find a girl that would marry your dumb ass. Do you want to wait another year, or two? She's willing to marry you BECAUSE she's damaged good. Frankly, she should marry a white American. She'll be appreciated and treated like a queen. Her previous dalliance will only be experience and not a shameful thing. Figure out the difference between "expect", and "want". There's nothing wrong with wanting. If it's important to you, you didn't exaggerate. But, it's not like she's the love of your life, she's just a girl your parents picked, you're just forcing love where it isn't anyways.
