They Just Needed A Nudge

So I'm a single mother in my 40s and I just have to tell this story because it always gives me and my now daughter in-law a good chuckle.

So my son has been best friends with the same girl for years. They met when they were around 8-9 or so and they've been near inseperable since but everything between them has always been completely platonic. My son has always been very shy and reserved and never got any real attention from girls. His best friend, however, she grew into a gorgeous young woman and she always mentioned to me that guys were always hitting on her and it really bothered her. I didn't really understand why it bothered her at first. When they were both 16 in clicked for me. She spent all of her time with my son and I started to notice when they were together she was constantly dropping subtle hints with him that she wanted them to be more than just friends. The sad thing was, my son, bless his heart, seemed completely oblivious to the hints she was dropping.

One evening when she had dinner with us at home, as she often did, I pulled her aside while my son went to the bathroom. I told her what I'd noticed and she admitted exactly what I'd suspected and she'd felt this way about my son for years but now she was getting frustrated about it. I told her I had an idea.

I went to my room and then came back and placed a couple of condoms in her hand. She was very surprised and I just told her to take my son up to his room and forget words, just kiss him already! She was in disbelief at first and thought it was a joke but when it set in that I was serious she smiled at me and thanked me for the advice.

After we finished dinner she casually asked my son if he wanted to hang out in his room and he said yes. Wasn't weird, they did it all the time.

About 20 minutes later I could hear a thumping sound coming from upstairs accompanied by moans. Those moans got louder and were definitely hers and I just felt giddy.

Fast forward four years and they are now recently married and already expecting their first child in a few months. The two of us have never told my son what took place that evening before they went up to his room but it gives us a real chuckle everytime it comes up.
