The coffee stand
For the past few years I been going to one coffee stand some 13 miles from home daily. I fantasize and just want to reach out and take hole of three of the gals that work there all in their late teens and early 20's and have become friends with them over the years and my favorite became pregnant and close to her delivery date she was going to take time off to have the baby and be gone for just about a year and I handed her a card and told her to open it later but she opened it right away and when she saw the 5 100 dollar bills I had put in it she asked why and I told her it was for her and the baby being she wasn't going to be able to work for awhile and she thanked me giving me a great big hug and a kiss on my cheek oh god I wish it was on my lips but I took it anyway and told her I would love seeing the baby someday.
Three months passed and mothers day came and I was at the coffee stand and Maria showed up and she had her baby with her and she told me to stay right there and took off. A few minutes later she came back and she handed me her baby and she had a darling little outfit on she really looked cute and aria said you bought that for her and thanked me again giving me another hug and a kiss on my cheek.
Two years later Maria still works at the stand and finishing 4 years of college and gone thru two more boyfriends I asked her to write down her full name, address, phone number and her parents info and she asked why and I told her to put on our wedding announcements and she looked at me really funny and said I can't but thanks for asking anyway and then I told her no it's for my attorney for I wanted to put her in my will for I do love her but as a daughter and I wanted her to have a bit of what I have when I'm gone for I have just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and given two years to live, I'm 84 years young, single and everything I have is payed for and no family to leave everything to.
Maria and two other girls are going to get everything I have split among them 50 % to Maria and 25% to the other two. Why well put it this way they have made me over the past years feel wanted not only as a customer but as a person and they honestly care for me.
On my 84th Birthday all three of them took me to dinner at Red Lobster and they wouldn't let me pitch in for the bill and even had a cake brought out and they sang happy birthday to me and all gave me kisses and plenty of huggs, god I didn't want the evening to end but when Emily and Maria said they had to open in the morning at 430 and here it was 1145 they needed to get a little sleep so we parted and at 7 in the morning for I woak up earlier than I normally do so I went in and as soon as Maria saw my truck she came running out gave me a big kiss and hug and handed me my coffee and said thank you, thanks for what I asked and she said being my friend. To this day all three of them makes me feel like I would love to be 24 again.
