Old guy confessed to a crime?
So I work part time as an assistant at a local retirement home. The old people say the craziest shit. Once a lady old enough to be my gram said unprompted, to my face, that I looked "plenty fuckable". Case in point, I was cleaning up a common room yesterday, only one old guy who looked kind of like a dehydrated raisin sitting on the couch in the room, until he called me over. I thought it was just like a water request or something but then he said he had a secret to tell me. I just nodded, said sure, you gotta just appease these old folks most of the time, until...
He said in a really calm voice that he had raped a preteen girl in the street in the 70s. He described it so methodically, so seriously that it seemed so real. He described seeing her, tackling her into an alley, knocking her out by hitting her in the head with a brick, then... you know, then fleeing the scene. I was shaken, I quickly just excused myself and got out of that room, but I was too curious. That evening, I googled old papers from the local area, and any reports of the kind from that time about a rape, and I found an obituary from a newspaper that seemed to line up perfectly down to the month.
I have no clue what I'm going to do. He's like 90. Man's going to die in the next few years, I bet. I don't know if there's any proof at all except his confession, which could even be fake (he's got some sort of dementia or something, I'm not privy on those details), but I think I might just pretend I never heard it. Jesus Christ.
If they are over 85... most statutes of limitations have run out. Unless they are, by some miracle, a WW2 Nazi war criminal...or someone wanted for murder...the chances are they got away with w/e.
Let them just go on and die. What would it actually do for the history of this planet if the are brought to justice ??? Look at the example of the brand new president of the United States. A convicted felon, a sexual predator, a business man that has broken laws...etc...and still. Actual JUSTICE now means absolutely NOTHING.
Some day you also will be old...and I wonder what kind of bullshit will be flying out your mouth then, in view of the level of bullshit that you are currently posting online in your relative youth. It would be ironic and Karma arriving at the same time on you as your "dehydrated raisin sitting on the couch" is observed by some attendant that works at the center where you will be placed into by your uncaring children once you start to disrupt their lives with your still being alive.
