Wife doesn’t want to be shown off
When my wife and I were dating she wore short skirts, revealing tops and generally dressed sexy. My wife of 15 years now and she’s still hot. However for some reason the sexy dressing has gone away. When I ask her to wear something sexy she gets mad. I tell her I think she’s hot. Sex is still great and often. She said she feels like she is being shown off if she dresses sexy. I said I love showing her off she’s so hot. She said she’s too old to dress like that (she’s 40 no kids). What can I do to get her to let me show her off a little like when we were dating?

My wife was just the opposite. The older she got the more she wanted to be shown off. When she was in her 40s, she was smoking hot and we would go out of town and she would dress All sexy. Sometimes she would dress up like a whore and we would pretend to meet in the bar and she would be my whore All night. Everywhere we would go she would let men look down her shirt or let her skirt ride Up. When we would get back to the room, she would be so fucking hot and ready to go. I miss those days.
I’m 70, my wife is 71. We reminisce about our younger years. I was lucky to have a wife that still looks good at 71 but still wore short skirts until she was about 60 and started having hip problems. At 40 she actually entered a contest at a strip club competing against 20 somethings and took 2nd place. Watching the guys watch my wife naked on stage was great. At 50 she still went topless on the beach and looked good doing it. I was lucky and able to show off my wife. Show this to your wife. Maybe she’ll realize you have to flaunt it while you have it. Sounds like your wife still has it and doesn’t know it.
That sucks. She doesn't like being "shown off" and "feels too old" can be caused by all kinds of mental hangups and none of them easy to convince people out of...
Maybe the problem is that society and/or peers tell her you gotta dress and act a certain way to fit in... maybe she has a self-image problem and is ashamed of her body now... maybe she has this idea that people who show off are cheap whores... maybe she's ashamed of her older open-minded self...
All that is the kind of shit that basically only sex therapists are qualified to deal with, and since sex is good and therapists are pricey and she gets mad even talking about your fantasy, that's not gonna happen.
I don't know where you live, but if you're near a city where adult events happen (like bawdy storytelling, a burlesque, a drag show, etc) that you can enjoy, it's an opportunity to get out and see other adults dressing risque and without hangups. Might encourage her to open her mind and break the habit of overdressing. Maybe a BDSM or swinger newbie night. But not a lot of people enjoy adult shows or want to see bdsm so maybe not.
