1st time gyn or breast exams with old time doctors

Times certainly have changed. When I think of these old time doctors, and the memories I have of examinations, and the accounts I read on this website, I'm always wondering. Especially with regard to first time gyn exams for girls. I wonder if the doctors training changes over time, or if doctors do what they want individually, or if they're not really trained what specifically to do at all, or what.

Like, for example, there are so many different descriptions of breast exams from the 60s and 70s. You're young and awkward anyway, vulnerable and embarrassed, even looking back though, something just ain't right. Exchanging memories of first times, I'm amazed at what my friends and I have shared with each other. One doctor told a 14 yr old she shouldn't have mom come with her, that way the girl would feel like she could be honest with the dr as he asked her about sex and talked about things like oral sex while fingering her.

Myself included, many of us experienced what would now be considered excessively long breast exams. Nipples pulled, rolled and pinched, and now you hear nipples shouldn't be touched at all. Boobs massaged and groped. More than one of us swore the doctor had licked our pussies at some point, and mine included rubbing my clit and telling me it was perfectly normal to feel good from that.

They never had the nurses present, in fact mine made a point of telling the nurse to leave and he'd call her if he needed her. A friend said her doctor told her how to do self exams and said the nurse could demonstrate if she wanted. She didn't! But always wondered exactly what would the nurse have done?! Fondle her? Fondle herself? The nurse disrobe? Have her prove she knew how to do one on herself, or on the nurse?! She just didn't know. Some doctors didn't leave the room while the girl undressed, or dressed afterwards.

I really wish some real gynecologists would l weigh in and state what a real exam, especially on a young girl having her first exam should include. Of course they always protect their own, or it would just be a total pervert lying on here. My one friend had her first adult exam after several years and with a new gyn in a new town and the doctor did so little she thought they were slacking. That made her start questioning whether her doctor when she was young perhaps did far more than he needed to.

One girl at age 15 had her dr tell her how huge her boobs were (yea, just like that!) and that she'd be popular with the boys! He scolded her and said she better not become a dancer! That fucked with her head for a decade or more, feeling embarrassed, self conscious, asking her mother if she could have a breast reduction at 17. (Her boobs are larger but not excessively so and certainly not when she was younger)

My dr had me sit up facing him while he examined my boobs, then I laid down and he examined them further, and then the vag exam and then he came back up and massaged my boobs again, telling me my nipples were kind of flat and saying I'd need to massage and pull on them to get them to stick out more, as he demonstrated of course.

Each of us had interesting accounts of how they handled the old finger up the butt that ranged from a couple fingers to actually thrusting inside several times. More than one talked about masturbation being completely normal and either demonstrating on the girl or explaining in detail how girls do it. Most of us didn't even know what masturbation was! Of course all of our first gynecologists were men too.

My own doctor made a point of explaining everything he was doing, excessively so, under the guise of making me feel comfortable, but his ongoing banter made me embarrassed, mortified, or just feeling icky. So many things he said were completely foreign to me. I remember him saying it's awkward at first because he starts feeling my breasts and we're looking at each other and it's normal to feel awkward when it is probably the first time a man was feeling my boobs or seeing me naked. That while laying stark naked in front of him. I just closed my eyes and almost cried.

Or him saying that he knew some parts of the exam were uncomfortable or even painful but "now here comes a fun one, for both of us"! That's when he was stroking my clit. Saying something about it feeling good for me and, as a doctor, insuring that I understood that sex was for pleasure not just for men or making babies. (If you don't know, its way out of bounds to touch a woman's clit in an exam.)

NONE of us ever told anyone, especially our parents, about what we experienced or were confused about. I suspect the doctors depended on that happening so they could could grope and get their fancies off at will.
