It's respectful to ask. Relationships are built on trust and respect, after all. I've been married 23 years and have only had sex with others besides my husband three times. Twice were meeting a guy friend I hadn't seen in many years (we were always hot for each other way back when), and the the other was joining a female friend at a party to fuck a couple of the other husbands there. Every time I asked my husband if it was okay. He knows it's not a regular thing and was cool with it. But you don't do shit behind your spouse's back.

My husband never had a problem with who I had sex with as long as I was honest with him about what i was doing. He told me that it's my body and he wasn't going to tell me what I couldn't do and who I could have sex with. I could bring someone home with me or i could stay out all night long and he was fine with it.

My ex gave me permission to fuck other women but she had to pick. Sometimes she would ask me who I would want to see if she wanted to join. But an agreement is not cheating!
