I Think My Wife Is Selling Herself

My wife of 8 years and I have struggled with money pretty much our whole time. I make about 50k/year and she does about 35k/year. Consistently just making ends meet.

While cleaning out our bedroom I found almost 40k in cash hidden behind a memory box in another box. When my wife came home I asked her about and she said it was from her parents if we ever ran completely out of money. I wasn't buying so it's either my wife is pulling a Walter White from Breaking Bad or she's selling her body. I just don't know what's happening.
