Female-on-male rape needs to be in the spotlight more.
I detest the way rape is depicted in our society when it's a female perpetrator and a male victim. Cannot stand it. If a male character has accidentally restrained himself, or has gotten too drunk to see, and a female character takes advantage of him, it's played for laughs. Flip the genders, and you have a special victims unit episode, but it's not really rape if he gets hard, right? That means he liked it! It's all good!
I was at work a while back, and a couple of my co-workers were talking about a news story where a female teacher had sex one of her male students and the kid reported it. Every comment I heard was along the lines of "where was she when I was a kid?" And "he's a dumbass, he had a good thing going, he'll never get anything that good again." Okay, first off: forty three year old teacher, and that's all we know. Does it mean she was a hideous dumpster fire full of used diapers? No. But statistically, the kid(who by the way was eight, which puts him firmly into "waaaay too fuckin' young") thought so. I don't remember jerking off when I was eight, let alone who I was jerking off to, but I'd bet you a hundred bucks it wasn't anybody old enough to be my grandmother. All of that, forgetting about the fact that any people of any demographic talking this way about a genderswapped version of this exact situation, and you'd raise eyebrows in meetings regarding even the edgiest episodes of Rick and Morty, and also, oh yeah, HE WAS FUCKING EIGHT. This was without a DOUBT the worst day of his life, that anybody would call him an idiot for talking about it means modern society needs to be taken out back and shot. I overheard this conversation years ago, in the early 00s, and I still see red just thinking about it.
I have never heard someone of a male being raped at that age......
This is a problem in society. Some studies claim men are just as often victims as women. But no one cares.
