Mom never called the police on her rapist

My Muslim mom never called the police on her rapist. Another woman called the police on him so he did have a trial. But at his trial mom stood up for him. She said he should get a light sentence. When Mom was on the stand she was squirming in the chair for some reason? And at one point Mom spread her legs wide apart?
