My wife is depressed, angry and disrespectful
We're retired professionals. For 25 years we had a very satisfying sex life. As our careers peaked so did the stress and our daily intimacy became weekly, then monthly, then stopped entirely about 10 years ago. I'd hoped that retirement would fix things as stress and fatigue faded... but if anything things got much worse. She was resentful and hateful and while bitterly complaining about our dead sex life she said some awful things that revealed her true lack of love and respect for me. I can't get past that.
A few weeks ago as we drove past a neighbor's house I commented on his playful reference to himself as a pimp. (He has a cute wife and that's his humorous way of saying that she is attracted to her. Nothing is shady going on there... I'm 99% sure of it.)
My wife angrily replied that she wishes he was a real pimp because she'd do any guy he sold her to. Whoah! I can't process that. My mind has been racing ever since.
I want her to be happy but I don't want to impulsively destroy our relationship by playing with fire. She has always been impulsive to our financial detriment- so I could see her doing something that I know she would regret later.
I've studied all kinds of options.
Counseling. (in her case probably not good)

If any of those would work I'd consider experimenting but knowing her personality I doubt any of those would work.
